The first phase of the project “Development of a robotic system for the automated packaging of spatially randomly arranged objects” has been completed.

Riga, 31.03.2025. - The initial phase of the project has concluded successfully with all tasks fulfilled and the planned results achieved.

A. The potential method for automated packaging has been defined — including minimum robot parameters, the type and design of robotic tools. The layout and technology of the equipment have been determined, specifying how the packaging process should be performed and what level of human involvement is required for operating the system.

B. The method for capturing and reproducing a digital twin of a moving log pile has been established.

C. An initial programming task has been developed.

D. An initial design task has been developed.

E. A test equipment design has been created.

Project implementation period: October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2026.
Research budget: 638,520 EUR.
Recovery Fund: 444,664 EUR.


Mechanika Engineering Secures Digitalization Grant and upgrades 3D Printing capabilities

Research project initiated

On October 1, 2024, SIA “Mechanika Engineering” in collaboration with SIA “Sters G” launches a research project: “Development of a robotic system for the automated packaging of spatially randomly arranged objects.” The research project is being implemented under the project “Forest Sector Competence Center - Digitalization” as part of the initiative “Support for the introduction of new products and services in business” by SIA “Forest Sector Competence Center”, CFLA contract No. 2.2.1.3.i.0/1/24/A/CFLA/001.
